Vorneweg:
Ich wurde des öfteren sowohl von englischen als auch von deutschen Fans gefragt warum  ausgerechnet Liverpool "mein englischer Verein" wurde und wie sich das mit meiner Leidenschaft zu Borussia verträgt. 
Dies war der Hauptgrund diese Seite zu erstellen 
Dazu ganz klar:
Borussia ist mein Leben danach kommt lange nichts und dann erst die REDS.
Wenn es irgendwann nochmal zu einem Europacup-Spiel Borussia v. Liverpool kommt hoffe ich auf eine riesige Party vor und nach den Spiel aber während des Spiels gibt es nur eines: BORUSSIA SIEGEN SEH`N !!!

Wenn ich deshalb bei machen Leuten nie ein richtiger LFC Fan werden kann, dann bin ich halt keiner ;-)

Meine LFC Geschichte:

So wie jetzt die Ultrabewegung ihre Vorbilder in Südeuropa (Italien, Frankreich) hat,
so waren Ende der 70er Jahre ganz klar die englischen Fans  die großen Idole.
Damals war es halt so das die Engländer die besten Fans der Welt hatten sei es beim Stimmung oder auch Randale machen.
*Ja ich gebe es zu als Teenager war man auch an der  "3. Halbzeit" interessiert
Aber vor allen schaute man sich alle Berichte und Europacup-Spiele mit englischer Beteiligung  im TV an um die in der Welt einmaligen Gesänge zu lauschen, wo einen schon vor der Klotze "kalt den Rücken herunterlief".
Liverpool war halt sehr erfolgreich und damit auch oft im TV zu sehen. 
Nebenher war der LFC, trotz dem Borussia von Liverpool immer eins "auf die Mütze" bekam, sehr beliebt in der Gladbacher Fanszene.

So wurde ich zum "LFC-Modefan"  :-)

In den" wilden 80er Jahren" war es in der Bundesliga "in" mit englischen Schals gerade bei "gewissen" Spielen herumzulaufen.
Ich hatte immer einen rot-gelben LFC Schal an.
Auch in der darauf folgenden Jahren als der LFC sich ins Mittelmaß verabschiedete blieb ich den REDS treu, so das ich das "Mode" ablegte.

Man beschränkte sich auch nicht mehr darauf die Ergebnisse im Videotext oder beim Kicker nachzuschauen, sondern begann sich auch immer mehr mit dem Verein und seiner Geschichte zu interessieren in dem man sich Bücher, Videos, CD`s usw. anschaffte.

Der weitere Verlauf meiner
"Liverpool Geschichte" ist sehr stark mit der der Freundschaft zwischen den Fans von Borussia und dem LFC verbunden. 

Nach der Katastrophe von Hillsborough war wohl jeder richtige Fan entsetzt.
Als einzige deutsche Institution wurde vom  Gladbacher Fanprojekt bei verschiedenen Aktionen Geld für die Hinterbliebenen (immerhin 21.000,- DM) gesammelt und 1991 auf einer Abschlußveranstaltung in Mönchengladbach offiziellen Leuten vom LFC und von der Hillsborough Family Group übergeben.
Durch diese Sache bekamen wir Gladbacher den direkten Draht nach Liverpool, zuerst zum  LFC International Supporterclub und der Hillsborough Family Group dann zum LFC SC Merseyside Branch gegen die bei unseren Besuchen bis 2001 immer ein Fussballspiel um den "Friendship-Cup" ausgetragen wurde.
Durch die jährlichen Besuche an der Anfield-Road und auch bei Auswärtsspielen in England/Europa kamen auch viele Kontakte zu anderen LFC Supporter zu Stande.

Der Liverpool FC ist jedenfalls nicht mehr aus meinem "Fanleben" wegzudenken dazu ist mir der Verein und auch die tolle Stadt zu sehr ans Herz gewachsen.

Aus diesem Grund gehöre ich auch seit Anfang an, zu den im Jahr 2001 gegründeten

First:
I’ve been asked this question from English and German football fans – why is Liverpool “my English club” and how does that go with my love for Borussia?
This was the main reason for this page.

But to make it clear:
Borussia is number one in my life and then there is Liverpool FC.

If there was to be another European Cup game Borussia v. Liverpool. I would be looking forward to the mega party before and after the game. But for the game there would
only one and that is BORUSSIA WILL WIN!!

So if that is the reason why I can’t become a real LFC fan for some people, so be it.

My LFC story:

The way the Ultra movement has it’s idols in southern Europe (Italy, France) now.

That is how it was at the end of the 70’s the English fans were the big idol.
Because back then England had the world’s best fans in support and trouble causing.
Yes I’ll admit, as a teenager I was also interested in the “3rd half” of the game.

So I watched on TV any reports and European Games with English involvement, to listen to the songs and chants that give a cold shiver down my spin.
Liverpool was the team with the greatest success and that was why they were so much on TV.
Even though Borussia always got beat by Liverpool. LFC is very much liked in the Gladbach fanzine.

So I became a fashion LFC fan :-) 

In the "wild 80’s" it was fashion to wear specific English fan scarfs.
So I wore a red-yellow LFC scarf.

But in the years to follow when Liverpool lost there success I stood by the REDS, but I dropped the fashion part. 

But didn’t stop at the results of the teletext and football magazines. I started to become a more interested with the club and it’s history though books, videos, CD’s etc.
 

The rest of my Liverpool story is very strongly linked the friendship of Borussia and Liverpool fans.

After the Hillsborough disaster every real fan had been horrified with what happened.

As the only German organization the Gladbacher fan project raised money for the families (21.000, -DM) and in 1991 at a big event in Moenchengladbach the money was
given to officials of LFC and the Hillsborough Family Group.

Though this use Gladbacher became closer linked with Liverpool, first with the LFC International Supporters Club and the Hillsborough Family Group. Then also to the LFC SC Merseyside Branch, which we played Football against at, are visits until 2001 for the “Friendship-Cup”.

As a result the yearly visit to Anfield and away game in England/Europe I’ve made a lot of friends and contacts with LFC supporters.

Liverpool FC is now a part of my life as a football fan, also the club and the city of Liverpool has become close to my heart.

And that is the reason why I belong to the 

So I hope with this more friendships with Liverpool fans can be made and to continue to support the REDS live.
